Couple of trips

Despite the wind and some rain I've managed a couple of trips, Tuesday was nice and calm so decided to head off to St Helens for a go at the Flounder was there by 1.30pm.





Two hook flappers with bling and ragworm for bait, ten minutes and I get a good tug and slacline bite and the 1st Flounder was in, not big around 10ozs but with 3 hours to go I was hopeful of a good session.



I was wrong that was the only bite I had and sat there till nearly 5pm without so much as a nibble.

Thursday evening popped down to my local beach and spent a couple of windy hours catching small pin whiting.
Friday evening Mick and I headed to Cowes, looking for a Dab or better sized whiting but it wasn't to be, I caught the only whiting just under size, along with 3 Rockling and this short spinned sea scorpion, a new species for the year.



Mick had a doggie first cast then a pout later.

Got a comp later this evening, just hope the fishing is better tonight.

You don't seem to be bothered by weed down there Davey.

Luckily it was on the beach and not in the sea, couple of rough days brought it in.

First time i have ever seen a scorpion fish Davey, well done

(seen them in the 'professional pictures' in books before but never like that, ugly things LOL)

Don't get confused tink the"short splined sea scorpion" is not a "scorpion fish" the later is a tropical species and very nasty short splined are prickly but not poisonous but the strange thing about them is that they "hiss" quite loudly we do get them around this area

didn't know there was a tropical one i just wrote what i did to save me writing it all

good effort davey stil among the fish i,ll have to dust off the rods soon ,, work then decorating at home ,, not good when theres cod about lol
