Welcome to the kayak fishing site!!!!

We welcome all those who kayak fish or want to,
it is a fun way of fishing, the sit on tops are very stable, good execise to
you dont need to have a big posh fishing kayak to do this, mine is only a 10ft wilderness tarpon 100, and Andy uses an 8 ft ripper.
we use short boat rods or kayak rods but my son uses a spinning rod so no rules realy on that, whatever you are comfortable with.
few safty issues :-would be good idea to wear a life jacket unless you very good swimmer,
a leash for your paddle is a good idea nothing worse than worrying about where your paddle is when you have got a string of fish on
and one on you rod good idea to they dont float.
remember if kayak does turn over it wont sink but everything loose on it prob will
a small anchor can be used altho we dont bother
minimal tackle kept on the kayak so set up most of it before you set off, and most kayaks have a dry pouch or hatch for keeping keys ,moblile, and extra bits dry.
you will get wet so if it cold suggest a wet suit, we use 2 piece suits or in the summer wet shorts ok
You are now ready to go out and can now get to all those little places coast fishermen cant , and get your bait or spinners out further

And you get to see the seals , dolphins etc close up quite an experience
