Pensarn Meet 22nd to 26th May 2009
Welcome to the Report from the 1st UK-SEA-FISHING.ORG Meeting in Pensarn, North Wales 22nd. to 26th May 2009.
On behalf of Chris and myself ( FishingwithFrank) I would like to thank all those who turned up, I would also
like to thank the dark side for without them we may have never met. One of the original reasons for my name
"FishingwithFrank" was to start a forum where like minded Fisher---people could meet swap info and fish
together especially a night when it could be a little daunting when your on your own. In March 2009 our
hands were forced and Chris and I decided to create our own forum...and here we are ...what a great 1st meet
It started on Friday night as the Camping crew went down to Colwyn bay
For those of us used to Fishing the wall It was just like being at home but with fish lol
As the night drew in the fish started
WiJonty was one of the first into the fish
Kaz also joined in the act ( she will soon be a pro )
As the Dog fish moved in Steve ( Moscowmale ) was well into them ... now this was about the time I had
to stop taking photos as everyones rods were at it...
A nice Whitting for Jonty
Hey Jonty thats my Crab your putting on young Sams head .... Nice fish Sam !!!
The fish kept coming all night and we were all starving... we knew the chinese chippy closed at midnight
so we packed up at 11-30pm to get to the chippy this is one Chris caught right at the death ...its hard packing
up when your catching but we were all starving lol
It was an early start for the day of the meet and I must admit it was a bit early for me hehe ...
but what a turn out...
I Think we all have to thank Moscowmale ( Steve ) for selecting the venue and the arrangements a great 1st meet
Chris and myself did the recci for the campsite etc it was the cheapest and closest to the sea and central to
where we were fishing... its a lovely beach
Now the Fish were getting a bit scarce during the day so Mark came up with the solution if the fish wont come
to me he will go to them...
No there is always one dark horse today it was Clive he came up with a lovely flounder
Andy also caught a small tope and im sure he has a photo of it but he was miles away from me on the beach so
I did'nt manage to get a photo of it.
We all went back to the campsite for a chin wag and decided our site saying should be \" Simpppple " hehe
when the part timers went home we got our thoughts together for a night fishing session... we decided on
Llandudno Beach... on the way there i showed the lads a few good fishing marks esspeccialy 1 where we could hold
a float fishing match....to be named by Jazzman later as " Rock City " now when this match comes up you will
all know where it is...hehe float fishing for Billy Bass...
Some people wonder why we go fishing
Surely seeing this is better than Eastenders
Steve started us all off with a whitting on a manic nights fishing I know he caught loads i just couldent keep
up with the photos we were all none stop ...
and a whiiting for me
Doggie time
A whitting for Johnty 1 of many
A doggie for Cloughy sorry I dident get photos of the rest of your catch but I was so busy also hehe
Another whitting for jonty
This was 1 of many doggies I caught ... the best one was when Jonty came over to see if i was all rite
I was sat in my chair knackered both rods were knocking like mad Jonty said " hey you have a bite" I knew
I was just wondering how to get them both in lol... jonty took the one on the right I took the left I pulled
in a 5 and half pounder doggie and jonty pulled in one just a bit smaller @ 3 and half pound... just baited the
rods up again and sat in the chair and the tip was off again bang...another doggie and i Knew everyone else was
the same what a busy night I was glad when someone said lets get home....back to the tents lol
Sunday Night Jazzman ( Ron ) said he fancyied Pensarn beach just in front of the camp site and guess what ???
BILLY BASS Turned up
It was a lovely night as you can see
I started the night off with a doggie and then to follow up with a little BILLY BASS ron also had a Billy Bass
good job too as we forgot to take a photo of mine lol
Bank Holiday Monday found us @ Rhyl Hourbour Fishing the Marina enterance ... very fast flowing Ron & I tried
float fishing
And guess what along came a Swan lovely she was too walked right through the middle of us and went fishing ...
hope she got more than us lol.
Ron switched to ledgering again and couldent belive the flow of the tide .... worse than Fleetwood
Bank Holiday Monday Night found us on Colwyn Bay oh another manic night ...
Ron started it off with a double header whitting
A little Whitting for me ... one of 3 that night
all I kept hearing after that was O M G get your camera as the doggies just got bigger and bigger the last
1 must have been bigger than the one i had saturday at Llandudno
The Monster one ..... dont put your fingers near this mouth
Well its the end of the weekend and the Pensarn meet ... the very 1st meet for UK-SEA-FISHING.ORG
we managed to turn a run down caravan site into a camping show room lol ( all the new tents )
And as for Rons tent we could have got the whole of them left on the dark side and still had room for a disco...
it was a palace that guy certanly knows how to live they were short of nowt,
At the end of the day it was a very sucessful meet..Chris and myself would like to thank all those who took
part in making this such a great weekend and lets hope there are many more ...and to all you new fisher..people
who like to meet like minded people this is the place to be ... so come and join us and have a great time...

well done mate youve done some work on the photos and a dam good job it just shows how much fun we had
in a dam good location with some good weather thrown in.
the excitment of seeing the photos after a meet is just a part of fishing along with an excellant set of guys to fish with
who could ask for more and as ive said before the whole set of meets we have planed for this summer im sure will all go as well as
this one.
If you are looking at this post as a guest on the outside and you are thinking of becoming a member do it now and join us we are
a good set of guys who have a whole lot of fun on our meets
The photo of the last doggie i caught could have been over 5.00IIb

Excellent post and pics Frank.
if you ever needed a recruitment Ad, that was it !
Good turn out, friendly faces, loadsa fish, POSH tents, you had the lot.
Nice one, everybody involved.
dappers
PS. Moscow. That crab you were using as bait was bigger than the one I ordered for my meal last week.
What baits did everyone use?

The crab wasn't my bait ..... I caught the whiting on the bottom hook, and snagged the crab with the second hook of my clipped pennel
Baits: mainly fresh, frozen and salted black lug, but I also used frozen peelers and blueys.
And just in case you were going to ask ..... my knife was out to deal with the crab, and no, I wasn't chucking spears
