hiyas all i recently got bought some sea fishing gear by my dad for my birthday after we had been salmon fishing on the river camel.
he got me it as i have just moved to paignton devon and being by the coast seems daft not to have a go at sea fishing.
i got a shakespear salt multiplier reel and a 12ft beachcaster we put the shockleader on as well so kind of ready to go
he showed me how to make a few rigs up etc very basic ones it begins with a p cannot remember the proper name sorry.
am looking for some advice on where to go and what to use in the paignton area problem is i have mobility issues due to a very buggered leg so idealy need to be able to get bus/taxi to the area.
i have experiance of fly and spinning but never sea fished in my life closest i have come is going sandlining with my grandad in the early 80s lol
kind regards and many thanks
martin

Cant be too much help to you really, BUT the best advice I can give is.........a trip to the local tackle shop. Ask his advice, he SHOULD help you as he will want to keep you as a customer. He will advise you as to baits and rigs and where to fish for the best. Should help a bit.

Ditto, as Ian has said. In addition though. If you still have the spinning rod, it could be put to good use in your area of the UK in the Summer months in particular. There are some excellent venues for Bass, Pollock and Mackerel fishing with spinning lures. The bonus is the gear required is far easier to lump round than traditional beach gear.
Starting point is still a local tackle shop specialising in sea angling gear. Choose a busy Saturday, a local experienced angler may then offer to take you under his wing.

well 8 am it was absolutely rollocking it down with rain cleared by 9 high tide at 12 ish
got to goodrington at about 10.30 was a couple of other locals there as well and they gave me plenty of advice.
by midday there was 6 of us fishing, beautiful weather as well fished till 2 but none of us got as much as a nibble some were float some bottom feeding and some lure and feather so i didn't feel like i had done anything wrong as none of us got a bite
really enjoyed it although i need to get a tackle box/seat as my leg was killing me all day and all of today :/
need a seat box ideally any suggestions?
on wheels or with a carry strap that can take over 20 stone ideally

Well done on your first trip out. As you say, your probably not doing too much wrong if no one was catching. Sounds like you did ok with the weather, it's been LASHING down all day here in Blackpool. Just keep trying, if people are catching and your not dont be worried about going over, explain your new to the game and asking advice. Main thing is..........ENJOY it.
I use a 24"toolbox on wheels that has a pulling handle. There are various trolleys. Have a look on ebay. Toolboxes with wheels as well.

Hey Martin, have you been out again? if so how did you get on. It might be an idea to join a local club and fish the club matches. They are never too serious(usually) and you would learn a lot.
