If you'd been catching Cod on a 7m tide on your boat off the Fylde coast, I'd have been amazed. They demand a stronger tide run to feed with any intent. You need at least 8,5m to expect Cod feeding. 9m is about the perfect tidal strength. It's amazing how these perfect Cod tides coincide with bad weather though, at this time of year. Still, looking at the photograph you had considerably better weather than I have today. The fog never lifted at all in Gisburn today.
