Not Much Bait
Frozen Lug and cocktails can eke it out
A shortage of fresh bait is a major problem in winter, with fewer worms less daylight time and bad weather plus an increased demand. Ways around the problem include freezing your own worms or eking out a limited supply by adding other available baits like squid, or switching to alternatives like mussels.
