how to whip an eye on your rod
to remove your old eye warm the resin with a lighter and cut it of with a knife.
then sand it clean.
cut a length of thread about 8 inch you will need it later
tape your eye in place
i use the tape to hold the thread then wind it on to the start place.
then wind it back over it self to trap it.
wind on about 8 turns and snip of the trapped thread.
then wind on until about 8 turns left to go.
using the 8 inch thread make a loop and trap it. turn on 8 more times and snip your thread about 4 inch long
pass it though the loop then pull the loop tails. this will bring your snipped end under the whipping then trim it off.
using a pen working from the out side in pushing the threads together then rotate over a flame to remove any small fibres.

i have a far better method of sorting out my really dodgy tackle and the seriously bodged attempts at repairing it, its called BIRDY! and you met him at the Fleetwood fun day, couldn't fish without his guidence, and very patient attitude
as compared to my slack and lackluster one
not my fault i fell into the guidence of the Ray Mears of the beach
and i learned a lot
lol lol lol cheers Birdy
