WHAT A TOTAL PLANTPOT I AM
Over the past 2 years I have been using various Internet sites to get my tide times, NEVER had a problem. But this year Ive gone back to my 'old faithfull' Lavers tide times book.
Last night I decided, due to 32ft tide to fish at Fairhaven for the flatties. Havn't fished there for a long time let alone at night. So me and my mate Colin went.
We got there about 8.15pm. Sat there untill 9.30pm.........no sign of any water........Er where's the tide? Then the rain started......still no tide 9.45pm. SOD THIS went home.
Decided to look at my book for the time tide.......11.34pm, I was right.........then realised.........HADN'T ADDED THE HOUR ON FOR B.S.T. WHAT A TOTAL GONK I AM!!!!!!!! High tide was at 00.34!!!!!!!
Ah well back to the Internet for tide times, at least there all in the correct times, no adding hours here and there

Fear not. You're not the first and undoubtedly wont be the last. Many years ago a boat owning friend of mine travelled from east Lanc's with his boat in tow to the slipway at Knott End after quickly consulting his Lavers. Unfortunatly he'd glanced at the time in the LOW WATER column and on arrival had to wait 4 hours for water to launch in!
