signs of life on the island
So far this year I've been managing to bag the odd blank saving pout, and that's about all.
Friday evening I arrived and was set up at a solent spot looking for a bass or flounder.
In the past it normally fishes from 3hours before high up to high.
I was set up by 8pm 4hours before high water.
After half hour a small rattle resulted in this nice flounder of a pound or so.
After that for an hour bites came thick and fast and I managed 3 bass all around the pound and half mark, then it was as if someone flicked a switch and they were gone.
At 11.30pm another rattle resulted in another flounder of similar size.
And around 1am another 2 bass of the same size came in,total for the night was 5 bass and 2 flounder.
So finally things are picking up, off again tonight got a comp at yaverland.
