It might be worthwhile trying the lead-head without paint if the hollow belly shad is as good as Berkeley reckon it is.

They are NOT commercially coated, and yes that paint was from uk-hooks.
The best I've ever used is do-it moulds own (pro-tek) a very fine powder and can be used with a fluid bath, hard to find a supplier in the uk tho, but as tomcat and moscowmale have said it really doesn't matter, it's more important that the lure itself is worked correctly, the way the fish want it...... that you won't know until the day as their moods change from tide to tide.
Winds,tides,pressure,colour,ground swell will all have an effect in some way, sometimes there better without a lead head, just a small belly weight inserted into the body is all that's needed, even a wide gape hook and a drilled bullet will do, and a lot of the time they just don't want to know at all No

BTW lads, it was unbelievable today, conditions were right and the fishing perfect, these were the boys that done it for me today Smile

They certainly are produced powder coated commercialy, as stated.
