1st FORUM Meet - Announcement
Many thanks for the replies and PM's all of which have been considered, and in order for as many UK-SEA-FISHING.org members as possible to make arrangements, I'd like to announce the date and chosen venue without any delay:
Date: Saturday 23rd May 2009
Venue: Pensarn, Abergele, North Wales
High Tide: 10.28am
Start fishing 8.30am, finish 12.30pm. (2hrs up and down)
Meet 8.00am
Pensarn is a village between Rhyl and Colwyn Bay with a long wide beach. The meet point will be the surfaced car park (opposite the Railway station) where there's a cafe and toilets. There are many B&B's and hotels in the area, some in Pensarn, for those of us who'll travel on Friday evening possibly to get fresh bait, but certainly to enjoy a pie and a pint ( or in Fishing with Frank's case, a KFC and glass of Rioja!)
More details will follow soon, but I'll do everything I can to help as many members as possible enjoy the day.
Please PM me if I can help.
Best
Steve

Clive
You and Zivile are inked in mate
Best I can offer is a postcode for the railway station: LL22 7PR
If you multimap or google earth it, the car park is just past the station, over a rail bridge, left turn and on the right (next to the sea).
Best

Carry on Campers!
Frank
Count on myself and Rob (computer probs at the moment) to join the camping posse.
A quick search on google shows a number of camp sites in the Abergela/Pensarn area, and though it's a Bank Hol weekend, we should find somewhere between us that fills the criteria:
1) near a pub
2) near a KFC
Anyone else ?????

Right Ive trawled high and low on the net looking for info on Pensarn . All Ive found up to now is this ;
The Venue
Get there for low water and look for the gulleys theres plenty of them some are deeper than others.... fish 3 hours before high and 1 after into the gulleys and your laughing .
The Baits
Fresh lug for bass..... squid and sandeel for the dogfish
The Fish
Bass have reported as being caught here from early April and plenty of LSD`s about .
Happy hunting

Re: 1st FORUM Meet - Announcement
Great info Andy
As we don't know the area, want to dig bait, enjoy a few tinnies/bbq etc we're going down on Friday and spending the night under canvas.
It wouldn't be the same without you...... are you up for it?
Steve.

Pensarn
Saturday 2/5/09 & Sunday 3/5/09 Chris and I went to Pensarn for a look around and to fish a few places. We camped on a site right on the beach.
The only facilities on site are 2 toilets and 2 sinks ( for both men / women ) ( NO SHOWERS ) Also you can plug into the camp site's elecricity. ( a min of 30 metre lenth lead will be required ) They Charge £15 per night ... there are other sites but not as near to the beach and one of them charges £35 per night.
Photo of the toilet block.
Some other points about the site, where the Tents are pitched it right next to a railway line and a motorway ( after the first 1000 trains and cars we stoped noticing them ) the good news is there is no driving to the beach and you can nip back for the toilets or a brew its so close .
There is ample free parking for anyone not staying on the site.
Also there is a Static Caravan for rent for anyone wishing to live in comfort.
This is a view looking from in front of Pensarn Railway Station
This is the road from Pensarn Railway Station leading to the camp site and meeting point
Chris will add more photos of the beach where we are fishing.

Re: 1st FORUM Meet - Announcement
Hi All been out on a recci to Pen-sarn this bank holiday, took a few piccys to give us an idea what were in for? the weather was a bit rough, hope its not like this when we get down there? Once you go over the bridge at the train station there are car parks to you left and right, (free) to the right you can drive onto the beach and park and literally fish right out the back of your car (recomended) there are toilets in short walking distance with cafe close by anyway there you have it enjoy the pictures
The Station
The right side parking
Fishing out the boot of the car
The Cafe close by
Toilets can't get better than this
His and Hers
And just incase we have a repeat of last outing at Fleetwood we can always resort to this
Or even better this
anyway there you have it hope you enjoyed piccys
Regards
Clive
