A quiet weekend Empty A quiet weekend

I'd been looking forward to Friday all week, fishing night!
Finally it was 8pm Mick came round and we were off, after picking crab and worm up on the way we were at Gurnard just before 9pm, Micks cousin was already there and as we set up we were joined by Lighty.

High water was at 22.43 so we would be fishing most of the night on the ebb, which at this venue is perfect especially for the Sole.

Well by 1am 4 of us with 7 rods out hadn't had so much as a nibble, Mick and his cousin wanted to move to Cowes harbour, not a favourite venue of mine but can produce some good Bass and always produces plenty of small stuff. So leaving Lighty to fish on we moved. 4am and still no fish and only a couple of knocks so we called it a night.

Saturday.
With bait left from the night before I headed off on my own to Fort Victoria in search of Sole Bream and Smut, but anything would do.
Arrived to find a stiff westerly wind blowing but thought I'd fish anyway.

A 2 hook flapper went out with worm on one rod and the other was either crab, Bluey or whole Squid.

The tide was flooding nicely some weed but it was fishable.
By midnight though the tide now ebbing I'd again not even had so much as a nibble, so that was it.

A whole weekends fishng and not even a pout, still thats fishing for you, and as always I'll be out undeterred as soon as possible, or the wife lets me!!
