Bait Digging with Birdy Empty Bait Digging with Birdy

Post by 4wheelfisherman Mon May 24, 2010 4:32 am

Had the chance to do a spot of bait digging for worms to day in Fleetwood with Birdy. The man is sickeningly good at spotting and pumping the worms but also just as sickeningly good at teaching you what to look for and how to pump for the worms. Now I have only just met Birdy but already know that he is VERY passionate about sea fishing and his home town of Fleetwood. He is also a strong believer of anything an able bodied fishermen can do so should a disabled fishermen should be able to all be it with a little help.

With Birdys help today, I managed to get about 8 worms and around 20 worm tails as I kept pumping the bloody thing in half all the time. O well, practice makes perfect.

Anyone with a disability or mobility problems, give Birdy a call. He will be only to willing to help.

Looking forward to a spot of North Pier fishing this Wednesday at 6pm. If your up for it, co along, I could do with the help.
Bait Digging with Birdy Worming

Thanks
Chris

What Chris hasnt told you is thats the first time hes tried pumping worms like I said to him we had to "wing it" with regards to him using the pump but he found a comfortable way to do it from his "wonderchair" its a great piece of kit.But at the end of the day the fact he got worms was down to his hard work and determination well done mate. ps sorry if you ache tomorrow lol

hi chris
nice to see the the post and a big welcome to the site. so you've also been bitten by the knowledge of steve (birdy) your
right with anything you say about this guy if he has the time he will go out of his way to help anyone i have nothing but the best
of admiration for him if i didn't already know where you where pumping the worm cast on the beach and not the back ground gives
it away they are a cast found only on marine beach fleetwood i pumped on that beach just 30 yards from the shore sat afternoon
for an hour and came of with 70 some black some yellow tails a good old mixture but if you know what your looking for it's quite easy

i look forward to seeing you on a meet where the access will be ok for you to fish i hope your post will encourage more disabled guys
to get out and give it a go you make it look easy where i have been told by able bodied guys its not keep it up chis well done
