How about a uni knot, form the loop over a wooden dowel so the knot comes out the same ( in theory) every time.

I tried a different method some time ago to get snoods the same length for rigs, I tried using some tubing, put the snood through the tube, through the hook , back through the tube, pull the rig tight to the right length, add a blob of glue & slide the tube down to the hook eye over the glue.

I had 50/50 success with this as some held & some didnt as the water released the glue.

The problem is finding a bonding agent thats water proof, can be applied in small drops & sticks to mono & the tube material as most super glues dont.

I saw a video on you tube about making mackerel feathers . The way he spaces the feathers up the leader and how he makes the length of each feather the same distance from the leader may help . It's an easy way but difficult to explain . Hope this helps Alan
